M+ opens online reservation for admission over Christmas and New Year period

M+, Asia’s first global museum of contemporary visual culture in the West Kowloon Cultural District (West Kowloon), announced today that the admission slots up until 2 January 2022 will be open for reservation from 6pm tonight on its designated online platforms. Moving forward, M+ will open one additional week of admission slots at 6pm every Wednesday on a rolling basis until further notice.

Due to the anticipated public demand before and during Christmas and New Year period, M+ had announced earlier that unregistered walk-in visitors would not be admitted to the museum until further notice.

The public can make online reservation for admission on the designated platform through the M+ website, West Kowloon website and through the West Kowloon Mobile App.

Apart from Mondays, M+ will be closed on 25 December 2021 (Christmas Day), 27 December 2021 (Public Holiday – this is also a Monday), 1 January 2022 (New Year’s Day), and the first and second days of the Lunar New Year in 2022. The museum will be open on other public holidays including 26 December 2021 (Sunday) with opening hours as 10am to 6pm. On 31 December 2021 (Friday and New Year’s Eve), M+ will be closed at 2pm as a large-scale countdown event will be held in West Kowloon that evening.

The new measures will not affect the admission arrangements for M+ Members and Patrons, who can enjoy unlimited year-round access to the museum and hence reservation for admission is not required. They can present their membership cards upon entry to the museum building and access the museum through designated lanes. M+ welcomes the public to join M+ membership and support the development of the museum through sponsorship, donations, and patronage. To express its gratitude and appreciation to its Members and Patrons, M+ opens at 9am every Sunday for them.

To ensure optimal visiting conditions, visitors are advised not to bring suitcases, backpacks or large bags to the museum. All items exceeding 30cm x 42cm x 10 cm in size should be stored at B1 Cloakroom and GF Self-service Lockers available on a first-come-first-served basis. Food and drinks are not allowed in the galleries and can only be consumed in the designated areas near the CURATOR Creative Café at M+ on B1 for the safety of the museum’s collection. To ensure everyone’s safety, all visitors are subject to a security check before entering or within the M+ building.

For details on M+’s online reservation, opening hours and opening programme, as well as M+ membership, please visit the M+ website or call our hotline at 2200 0217.
