M+ extends online reservation services for admission
M+, Asia’s first global museum of contemporary visual culture in the West Kowloon Cultural District (West Kowloon), announced today that the admission slots in the first half of December 2021 will be open for online reservations on 23 November 2021. Moreover, from today onwards, unregistered walk-in visitors will not be admitted on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays as well as Public Holidays until further notice.
Starting from noon 23 November 2021 (next Tuesday), members of the public can make online reservations for admission time slots for 30 November 2021 (Tuesday) to 12 December 2021 (Sunday) on a designated platform through the M+ website, West Kowloon website and through the West Kowloon Mobile App.
Since the museum was open to the public on 12 November 2021, there have been around 10,000 persons on average visiting M+ every day. The museum has received overwhelming responses with a record of over 160,000 reservations in the first two weeks as of 18 November 2021.
To ensure smooth admission and to offer a pleasant experience to visitors, M+ will not admit unregistered walk-in visitors on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, as well as Public Holidays from today onwards until further notice. Walk-in visits may be possible from Tuesday to Thursday but will be subject to availability. In anticipation of a large number of visitors during the initial period after its opening, M+ strongly recommends all visitors make reservations ahead of their visits.
The new measures will not affect the admission arrangements for M+ Members and Patrons, who can enjoy unlimited year-round access to the museum and hence reservation for admission is not required. They can present their membership cards upon entry to the museum building and access the museum through designated lanes. M+ welcomes the public to join M+ Membership and support the development of the museum through sponsorship, donations, and patronage. To express its gratitude and appreciation to its valuable Members and Patrons, starting from 28 November 2021 (Sunday), M+ will open an hour earlier at 9:00am every Sunday for Members and Patrons visits.
To enhance the security and safety of the museum and its visitors, visitors are subject to security checks at the museum entrances and inside the museum building. All items exceeding 30cm x 42cm x 10 cm in size, including backpacks and luggage, should be stored at B1 Cloakroom and GF Self-service Lockers before galleries admission. Food and drinks are not allowed in the galleries, and they may only be consumed in the designated areas near the museum cafe.
