In a dimly lit room, two net and leaf installations hang from the ceiling, next to a display screen joint by three TV screens on the right-hand side. In the middle of the room are two tables with glass display cases containing various documents and photographs. Next to the tables is a wall of framed pictures and illustrations, and opposite the tables is a display case.

Location: M+ Pavilion

In Search of Southeast Asia through the M+ Collections is M+'s first exhibition to focus on a particular geography, in this case, Southeast Asia. By featuring works from the fields of design and architecture, moving image, and visual art, the exhibition uses the museum’s growing multidisciplinary holdings to shed light on the diverse and wide-ranging cultural practices within the region over the last half-century.

On the left, two display podiums with architectural models are covered by glass cases, and behind the podiums is a display case with photographs and illustrations of architecture. In the foreground of the right side is another display podium with colourful objects covered by a glass case, behind it is an architectural model made of bamboo sticks, and in the background is a projection of an image of boats and rivers on a wall.
