Young People Meet-Up:
The Art of Storytelling—From Henry Steiner to Instant Photography

This workshop is for participants aged 16 to 24. Please bring valid ID.

The workshop ticket will include same-day access to General Admission exhibitions (excluding Special Exhibition). Please retain a copy of your ticket to facilitate your entry to the galleries.

Participants can enjoy a special 10% discount off on items inspired by Henry Steiner: The Art of Graphic Communication at The M+ Shop with their workshop ticket. This special offer is only valid on the day of the event.

Join this workshop to compose your distinct instant photographs inspired by the graphic language of Henry Steiner, using images to tell your stories.

Regarded as the father of graphic design in Hong Kong, Henry Steiner often employs the technique called split imagery in his design, juxtaposing elements from different cultures to create his unique visual language. This workshop, led by Nadia Sheng from Henry Steiner’s studio, Steiner&Co, in collaboration with Nikki Cheung from the camera brand Lomography, will introduce you to Steiner’s distinctive visual communication methods. Participants will draw inspiration from Steiner’s practice and use Lomography instant cameras with multiple exposure and the Splitzer lens to collage surrounding elements, using image design to narrate your personal stories.

At the end of the workshop, M+ Educators will guide participants to the exhibition Henry Steiner: The Art of Graphic Communication to learn about Steiner’s influential graphic language and the art of storytelling through images.
