Young People Summer Takeover:
In the Zone

All activities are free, with some activities requiring pre-registration.

Beat the summer heat and invite your friends to join us for this thrilling summer festival designed for and by young people at M+! The Young People Summer Takeover, organised by the M+ Young Collective, focuses on topics and issues that are of interest to today’s young people, featuring a variety of museum experiences such as creative workshops, music performances, and screenings.

The theme this year is ‘In the Zone’, inviting participants to recognise the different and diverse facets and dimensions that exist in oneself and to live with the world in flexible ways. As we pursue an ideal life, we will face our own expectations, as well as those of others, and sometimes we will be constrained by the realities we encounter. M+ Young Collective collaborates with cross-disciplinary creatives, encouraging young people to learn about themselves through different mediums. The goal is to help participants find comfortable ways to balance the ideal and the real, allowing them to find their own balance in life.

Creative Day Camp

This event is for participants aged 18 to 24. No prior knowledge of arts and visual studies is required.

Creative Day Camp invites young people to experiment with the infinite possibilities of creativity! Over four days, you will work closely with artist-instructors to reflect on the essence of artistic creations, explore different ways of expression through various mediums and gain insight into how the themes of the Camps are relevant to our daily lives. The process emphasises self-discovery, practice, and sharing with like-minded participants through conversation, play, and exploration. In addition to workshops, you can visit the M+ galleries to draw inspiration from its collections and go to places outside of the museum with the instructors to transform moments of your daily life into creative works.
