Jockey Club Community Outreach and Arts Education Programmes:
Photographer-led Tours for ‘Noir & Blanc’
The guided tour is free for ticket holders of the Special Exhibition The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Noir & Blanc—A Story of Photography. Please retain a copy of your ticket to facilitate your entry to the gallery. Please see 'Get Tickets' for details.
Since the invention of silver-based photography, the development of black and white photography has spanned over 180 years. The exhibition The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Noir & Blanc—A Story of Photography explores how photographers have utilised black and white photography as a timeless artistic medium to showcase their creative ideas.
In this series of guided tours, photographers from various fields will be invited to discuss different aspects of black and white photography, including its cultural background, darkroom printing techniques, and its unique qualities as a creative medium. In the transition from traditional film photography to the digital age, what varied enchantment has made black and white photography still a top choice for photographers even after more than a century?
Co-organised by M+ and French May Arts Festival, this event is one of the activities under the Jockey Club Community Outreach and Arts Education Programmes exclusively sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
