This edition of ‘M+ at Night’ brings a Friday evening of creative activities that stimulate your senses. Explore every corner of M+ with creators from across disciplines. Whether you’re a solo visitor or joining with a group of friends, take a wander through the museum at your own pace.
The theme for the night is sensory encounters, with activities that engage your senses beyond the visual to explore the museum’s exhibits and spaces. Stimulating through scents, sounds and touches, the creative workshops, performances and in-gallery activities will appeal to multiple sensory instincts and change your perceptiveness in daily life.
Come and join us for an evening blast! All activities are available on a drop-in basis. Those taking place on the ground floor are free for everyone to join; exhibition ticket holders are welcome to activities on Level 2. Learn more in the details below.

Tactile Drawing
Ever wonder how people with visual impairment ‘view’ works in a museum? Come for the challenge of ‘seeing’ the imagery through audio descriptions and transform it into a tactile drawing. As you feel the raised surfaces of the tactile drawing with your fingers, you will be able to ‘see’ the imagery in your mind. This workshop enables you to learn about how people with visual impairment communicate, and discover ‘viewing’ beyond the visual.
Time: 19:15 (Mandarin), 20:00 (English), 20:45 (Cantonese) (30 minutes per session)
Location: Main Hall, Ground Floor
Meditation on the Hip
Our bodies rely on the hips to support walking and daily movements, but sedentariness, repetitive moving, inflammation and strain can cause stiffness and discomfort. Additionally, muscles store emotional memories, and the hips are a place where physiological and psychological stress can accumulate. In this meditation session with art educator and yoga instructor Tin Ming Lau, you will be guided through gentle movements to relax tensions in your hips and to reconnect with your senses. After the practice, your steps may become lighter when you walk around the museum, creating more space in your mind for feeling the surroundings.
Time: 18:30, 19:15, 20:00, 20:45 (30 minutes per session in both Cantonese and English)
Location: The Forum, Learning Hub, Ground Floor
Erhu musician Longman Luk composes a creative rendition of natural and city landscapes blending nature sounds and computer music in his music. Based on the erhu solo piece Birdsongs (often translated as Singing of Birds Resounds in the Valley), Longman and his team join hands with video jockey Kalmarr Lam to build an experimental soundscape that expands your imagination with sounds and creates a new listening experience in the museum.
Time: 20:00 – 21:30
Location: Grand Stair, Ground Floor
The M+ Audio Guide offers an accessible digital experience for all of its visitors. Besides object information and interviews in Cantonese, English and Mandarin, audio descriptions are also available for selected works and provide additional information to assist the visually impaired. Listen to our audio guide on your own mobile device, choose ‘audio description’ when you see the icon and experience a different kind of museum viewing.
