Founded in 2014, Indigo 11.50, also known as ‘Lantau Blue’, is the first natural dyeing studio in Hong Kong, located in a traditional village in Lantau Island. The name Indigo 11.50 represents the concept of ‘handcrafting blue pieces.’ The brand insists on infusing the production process with the delicacy of hands and the warmth of the heart to perserve the tradition. Modern industrialisation and digitisation have caused people to lose tangible qualities in life. By revisiting this process, we aim to restore the intuitive sensory experience that we have gradually lost in the digital era.
The conversation will be facilitated by Gigi Leung, Curator, Learning and Engagement of M+.
