Making Workshop—Look! Our Feathered Friends Are Here!
Making Workshop—Look! Our Feathered Friends Are Here!
The epidemic has greatly reshaped our day-to-day, changing the way we see, live, and socialise. M+ invites visitors to a creative workshop where you can experience visual culture by making fun, wearable pieces and accessories inspired by works in the M+ galleries.
Surrounded by greenery and the Victoria Harbour, there are always seabirds soaring across the sky outside the M+ building. Have you ever wondered how seabirds see the museum? Artist Brandon Chan, members of M+ Young Collective volunteer programme, and participants will transform themselves into 'birdmen' as they gain a fresh perspective of the museum from a 'bird's eye view'.
This workshop is recommended for children ages six and above. Children must be accompanied by an adult. One adult may bring a maximum of two children per workshop session.
About the Artist
As an artist, Brandon Chan considers himself to be a storyteller who collects stories on objects. His artistic practice emphasises a research process that brings artists closer to a wide range of audiences. He also aims to inspire people to be creative by exploring the potential for socially engaged art.
M+ Young Collective volunteer programme is supported by The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Hong Kong. The programme engages fifteen local tertiary students and recent graduates. They work closely with the M+ team and artists from various disciplines to develop and implement public events.
M+ Opening Programmes
M+ celebrates its grand opening with a programme of events designed to welcome visitors in its newly opened space. Whether you are a seeker of new insights or an arts enthusiast, we invite you to the world of visual culture through our talk, thematic tour, workshop, performances, and screenings.
M+ is more than just a museum—it is also a platform for visitors of different ages, backgrounds, and abilities to interact and exchange ideas with artists, makers, and the community. We welcome everyone—with or without knowledge in visual culture. All you need to be is curious!
