Journalling for Self-Care Workshop

This event is for participants aged 16 and above. No prior experience is required.

Exhibition tickets require separate purchase.

What is journalling and how can it benefit your mental health? Journalling can be an act for self-care, offering a private space for self-expression, reflection, and self-discovery. When one feels overwhelmed, journalling often provides a way to pause, clarifying thoughts and feelings and noticing patterns.

In this workshop, you will learn the basic techniques of journalling and get inspired to write by creative ideas, questions, and topics. The programme includes guided meditations and explores topics such as self-respect, self-confidence, and self-compassion. Whether you are a beginner or a skilled meditator seeking the company of others, join this workshop and together we can create an equal and safe space to care about oneself and others through journalling in the museum environment.

The workshop will be led by Gopi Elton from Raja Yoga Hong Kong Center and will be conducted in English.

About the Instructor

Gopi Elton is a meditator and a Raja Yoga teacher who has over 40 years of experience as a health professional in Australia and the United Kingdom, predominantly working as a registered nurse in the mental health and aged care fields. She has also worked in the public and private sectors as a mental health clinician, therapist, and outreach worker on crisis teams. Through these experiences, she gained valuable insights into resilience, self-care, and supporting acute and chronic mental health conditions, which encouraged her to deliver workshops with themes of healthcare, self-care, and spiritual empowerment.
