Join artist Nalini Malani and M+ Museum Director Suhanya Raffel as they reflect on the artist’s trailblazing and cross-disciplinary works spanning the past fifty years.
Recognised as a pioneer of video art and experimental film, Nalini Malani is one of the most prolific cross-disciplinary artists working today. Her multilayered creations, informed by her early experiences as a refugee following the partition of India in 1947, express a resolute commitment to investigating the effects of war, violence, and the repression of women. In this conversation, Malani will discuss the evolution of her practice as she continues to embrace new technologies and ways of working. She will also reveal the concepts behind her works at M+, including Vision in Motion on view at the Studio, In Search of Vanished Blood (2012/2022) displayed on the M+ Facade, and LIFE (2022) to be showcased on M+ Instagram.
The talk will be held in English and livestreamed via this page, Facebook, and YouTube. A recording of the talk with bilingual subtitles will be subsequently made available on the M+ website.
About the Artist
