What does your ideal family trip look like? What type of scenery do you and your family hope to see? What type of souvenirs do you wish to collect as mementos of the journey?
Artists can see the world from unique perspectives. Even when memory fades away through time, they are able to capture precious moments with creativity.
Travel across the museum through time with ‘viewfinders’ in different sizes and games that aim to stimulate your senses. In this workshop, M+ Educators will guide you to observe the surroundings in a different way, and depict the ‘scenery’ on a giant canvas using your bodies and different painting tools. The resulting collage collectively created by families will reveal the hidden, interlocking connections between children and adults. Together, we will experience how art takes everyone on a journey of unknown wonders.
Co-produced by M+ Educators Cheryl Chow and Sinman Yeung, and the M+ Learning and Interpretation team, this workshop is a variation of Family Day Art Workshop: Messy Play. Complementing Things, Spaces, Interactions, this workshop prompts participants to discover design objects through varying perspectives.
About Family Day
Family Day brings forward family-orientated events to M+ on Sundays during the second half of each month. We invite families to share their creativity through various types of activities that foster deeper connections among members and with other families as we come together to form a vibrant family collage on an open platform at M+.
