Family Day Performance Art Workshop:
Moving Landscape

Participants may move around designated areas in the museum and interact with each other by stretching, flexing, and swaying their bodies. We are able to make accommodations for wheelchair users and participants who are pregnant. We recommend families to wear comfortable clothing to freely take part in the event. Please see 'Event Arrangements' below for details.

The workshop ticket will include same-day access to General Admission exhibitions (excluding Special Exhibition). Please retain a copy of your ticket to facilitate your entry to the galleries.

If you and your family were trees in the woods, how would you embrace one another? If you were a tree, large or small, would you sway in the wind and stay close to your loved ones?

In this workshop, M+ Educators will invite families to use their bodies as a form of communication. Morph into marvellous landscapes and wildlife, families can unleash their creativity while enjoying the comfort and fun of physical activity.

Guided by M+ Educators, adults and children will share their encounters in the museum with simple and easy body movements. From buzzing flies to majestic waterfalls, you will imitate animals and landscapes using small props, inspired by the works from the M+ Collections, alongside other families. Participants will then collaborate on a one-minute flash performance to create an evolving and magical natural landscape in the museum.

Inspired by the visual language of artists, participants can relax their bodies and minds in various physical movement games and sense the relationship between their bodies and the world in this creative learning experience.

This workshop is co-produced by M+ Educators Brandon Chan and Nigel Yau and the M+ Learning and Interpretation team. Complementing the exhibition Individuals, Networks, Expressions and Paul Chan: Triosophia, it encourages participants to explore M+ Collections through varying perspectives.
