Learn about the power of art and turn an ordinary family picture into a fabric sculpture!

Artist Yayoi Kusama often combines her love of nature and the longing for interconnection in her works. Guided by M+ Educators, participants will express themselves in fun and creative ways by putting together a portrait inspired by the forms and compositions of plants using cyanotype printing techniques. Reflective of Kusama’s artistic vision, the portraits signify our interconnection with the cosmos as a part of nature.

Complementing M+’s special exhibition Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to Now, this workshop explores the core philosophy of life through the lens of Yayoi Kusama.

A portion of the event may take place outdoors in the lawn. We recommend participants to wear loose clothing and use UV protection under direct sunlight.

Family Day brings forward family-orientated events to M+ on Sundays during the second half of each month. We invite families to share their creativity through various types of activities that foster deeper connections among members and with other families as we come together to form a vibrant family collage on an open platform at M+.
