Marcel Duchamp Large Glass with Shuzo Takiguchi Cigar Box杜尚的《大玻璃》與瀧口修造的《雪茄盒》
1992/2013
In the 1970s, Ikko Narahara lived in the United States when his old friend, the poet, artist, and art critic Shuzo Takiguchi, asked that he capture The Bride Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors, Even (also known as The Large Glass) (1915–1923), one of the most iconic works by Marcel Duchamp. Once Narahara stood in front of the work at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, he documented the glistening cracks in the picture against the background of the pristine interiors of the museum. These early prints are rare interpretations of The Large Glass and show Duchamp’s deeply individual and conceptual approach.
