Archival material, The Concourse (1979–1994), Singapore 新加坡鴻福中心(1979至1994年)檔案資料

This series consists of 19 drawings, 10 photographs and 2 documents of the two schemes of The Concourse project, namely 'Beach Road I' and 'Beach Road II'. It is situated parallel to the Beach Road and Nicoll Highway in Singapore. The project is also known as the Hong Fok Centre, named after the developer Hong Fok Corporation.

The construction commenced in 1981, later halted within the decade, until it was finished in 1994. The complex comprises of a tower (office and residential) on the east side and a U-shaped multi-purpose podium on the west side. Taking the tropical climate of the location into account, solar shading and communal gardens as well as external balconies are adopted into the design. The use of wide overhangs gives the shape of an inverted pagoda. The overall structure is elevated to enhance pedestrian circulation at grade.

Both subseries contain the architect's description, drawings and photographs corresponding to each scheme. The photographs depict different angles on the architectural models.
This series is part of the Paul Rudolph Project Archives.
