Vincent Broquaire Drawings 文森.布羅凱爾繪圖

This collection includes process drawings and storyboards for three animation works commissioned by M+, titled ‘How to Build a Musuem’ (2021), and gallery interpretive animations, titled ‘John Cage and Chance Operation’ (2021) and ‘Marcel Duchamp and Found Object’ (2021).

The first group of materials documents behind the creation of the ‘How to Build a Museum’ (2021) series, consisting of ten episodes. M+ entrusted Broquaire with the task of producing these short animations as a fresh approach to documenting and elucidating the intricate engineering and design aspects of the M+ building. Broquaire skillfully brought the construction journey of the building to life through these episodes, shedding light on its distinctive architectural elements such as the terracotta tiles, the area of Found Space, mega trusses, the rooftop garden, and the land reclamation of the West Kowloon site.

The second set of materials pertains to the raw materials used in two other commissioned works, ‘John Cage and Chance Operation’ (2021) and ‘Marcel Duchamp and Found Object’ (2021), which are part of the museum's first exhibition, 'Dream of Museum'. These two videos aim to provide visitors with insights into the conceptual ideas and art historical significance underpinning the works of Marcel Duchamp (1887–1968) and John Cage (1912–1992).

As for related materials in M+ Collection, three sculpture boxes can be found: 2024.111, 2024.112, 2024.113, 2024.114, 2024.115, 2024.116, 2024.117, 2024.118, 2024.119, 2024.120, 2024.121, and 2024.122.
