The Congregation B’nai Israel was established in Bridgeport in 1867 and its original synagogue was erected in 1911. In February 1955 the congregation came to an agreement with Percival Goodman to design their new synagogue, and the building was dedicated in January 1958. This project was numbered B11 by Wang Chiu-Hwa.
