The Congregation Adas Kodesch was founded by mainly eastern European Jewish immigrants in 1889. In 1957 it merged with the Chesed Shel Emeth Congregation to form the Congregation Adas Kodesch Shel Emeth. In 1959, the congregation engaged Percival Goodman to design their new synagogue. This project was numbered B27 by Wang Chiu-Hwa.
