This congregation was founded in 1948 and prior to moving into the Goodman-designed synagogue it met at Victory Boulevard in Staten Island. This building was destroyed by fire in 1956 and the new synagogue was proposed in 1960. This project was numbered B24 by Wang Chiu-Hwa.
