Archival material, Selene, Monument to Man's Conquest of the Moon, USA 美國登陸月球紀念碑「月神茜莉妮」計劃案檔案資料
'Selene, Monument to Man's Conquest of the Moon' is a voluntary design by Wang. The monument was originally conceived in the mid-to-late 1960s, before the successful lunar landing. In 1969, Wang revised the original monument design to commemorate the first lunar landing by the Apollo 11 mission. The promotion of Selene project was officially ended in circa 1976 owing to insufficient donations and lack of government support and perhaps also the political climate of improved relations between the USA and the People’s Republic of China. Afterwards, Wang continued to promote the Selene project privately until 1990s.
