Archival material, Dafen Art Museum (2005–2007), Shenzhen, China 中國深圳大芬美術館(2005至2007年)檔案資料
Urbanus was commissioned by the Longgang District Government to design and build the Dafen Art Museum from 2005 to 2007. The museum sits at Buji, Shenzhen, a town reputed for being the base of oil painting replica workshops and markets. The highly commercialised and secular surrounding presented itself both as a conflict and opportunity to a fine art museum. Urbanus, thus, was inspired to integrate exhibitions, galleries, workshops, and shops under the same roof, allowing for the diffusion of one idea to another. This series consists of four sub-series arranged by work type.
