Henry Steiner served as the Design Director of The Asia Magazine from 1961 to 1963. This series comprises works for The Asia Magazine and its Chinese edition, Asia Weekly, from the 1960s to the 1980s. The archival materials include newspaper and magazine advertisements, cover designs, subscription, memorandum sheets, leaflets, brochures, booklets, envelopes, rate cards, business cards, letterheads, a placemat menu, and a folder, totalling some 230 objects.
The Asia Magazine, launched in 1961, aimed to provide a Pan-Asian perspective on the region's cultures and histories. It was intended for distribution across Southeast and East Asia including Burma, Ceylon, Guam, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia (and with later Singapore), Thailand, and Vietnam.
