301 302
For Song-hee in apartment 301, life is all about food and sex. Next door in apartment 302, Yoon-hee retches at the mere thought of these things. When an investigator knocks on Song-hee's door about the disappearance of Yoon-hee, recollections of the two women’s traumas culminate in a frenzied final course.
Before the films of Park Chan-wook and Bong Joon-ho captivated the world, there was Park Chul-soo's 301 302 (1995). Although largely overlooked now, 301 302 was one of the first Korean films to receive a theatrical release in the West and offered cinephiles the first taste of contemporary Korean genre cinema. Park’s portrayal of female desire gone awry is a study of the new possibilities and old plights faced by the modern women in 1990s South Korea. A quintessential work of gastronomic horror, this unforgettable mukbang will be served up in a brand new 4K restoration.
