Eileen
Eileen
Eileen (Thomasin McKenzie) works as a clerk in a correctional facility for young boys in a quiet small town. Her work is uneventful and her life at home is bleak with an alcoholic father who cannot let go of his past. She spends her day fantasising about a prison guard she works with and imagining her own demise. One day, a newly appointed psychologist named Rebecca (Anne Hathaway) arrives at the prison. Eileen is instantly captivated by the confident and attractive colleague from the big city. Their friendship becomes the validation that Eileen needs to step out of her own shadow. But their mutual interest in a teenager who is incarcerated for murdering his father will put their relationship to the test. Rising star Thomasin McKenzie (of Jojo Rabbit fame) takes on Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway in an acting duel that unravels the subtle complexities of these deceptively simple characters.
Eileen will be exclusively shown at M+ Cinema in Hong Kong.
