Ignite your senses with the ultimate experience: ‘Amorphous Bodies: A Happening’, the party to kick off the Asian Avant Garde Film Festival. Brace yourself for a Friday night extravaganza filled with pulsating lights and electrifying beats.
Immerse yourself in a fusion of avant-garde experimentation and live performances, starting with Baby Diwata, a Manila-born DJ known for genre-fluid selections, and Loveless, a Hong Kong-born artist who brings a non-conforming mix to the dance floor. Experimental visuals will be created in live-time by Elizabeth Kezia Widjaja, an Indonesia-born and raised artist and photographer.
Brace yourself for ‘Overlappers’, a performance that defies conventions, brought to you by sister-brother artist filmmakers Jennie MaryTai Liu and Simon Liu. Accompanied by the captivating sounds of musician Andrew Gilbert, they weave together layers of video, choreography, and sound—inspired by materials from the films and filmmakers from the festival, ranging from notes to discarded marginalia—and create an immersive experience that challenges the status quo. Drawing inspiration from the festival, their performance becomes an ode to the random, the improvised, and the unplanned.
Celebrate the amorphous, the ever-evolving, and the limitless possibilities of artistic expression at the Horizon Terrace.
