A Different Man
Join us at M+ Cinema for a screening of ‘A Different Man’, where director Aaron Schimberg explores the dark yet comedic struggles of a man who cannot escape his insecurities.
Edward is an aspiring actor whose facial features are severely disfigured by neurofibromatosis. Despite being attracted to his neighbour Ingrid, he is too nervous to pursue a relationship with her. One day, he is offered a chance to receive an experimental treatment that will cure his condition. Reborn with a normal-looking face, Edward adopts the name Gus and pretends that Edward has died.
Just when he thinks that all his problems are gone, Oswald, a man with neurofibromatosis, enters his social circle, and unlike Edward, Oswald is charming and confident. With a cast featuring Sebastian Stan (The Apprentice), Adam Pearson (Under the Skin), and Renate Reinsve (The Worst Person in the World), director Aaron Schimberg explores the dark yet comedic struggles of a man who cannot escape his insecurities.
